I find smaller, intimate events to be my jam.

Depending on your photography shot list needs, I can handle up to 50 attendees at an event. If it's a flexible shot list, where you want to capture people interacting more than a set of group photos, then up to 100 is possible.

To really capture the candids, I do not use a flash. I want the event guests to comfortably mingle without always feeling like they're being watched by a camera.

some events that I've shot:

  • Latte art throwdowns
  • Panels that also had food vendors or table vendors
  • Food and similar tasting showcases
  • Trade show booths and floors
  • Influencer activations
  • Board game nights (hosted by me, too!)
  • Workshops

I'm also down to shoot:

  • Company off-sites
  • Yoga or meditation retreats
  • Bootcamps
  • Dog or fur baby birthday parties
  • Human birthday parties

As a community organizer & coffee professional, I've organized and attended many events, including trade shows.

I know the work that goes into making sure everything runs smoothly. As your event photographer, my job is to take some worry off your hands so you can enjoy the fruits of your labor.

I've also worked in marketing for the last decade—I know the images that will make your event stand out. Let's capture those moments, so attendees can relive it, and others will feel the FOMO.

I'm the small event photographer for you if:

  • The event venue is well-lit (no dark bars/restaurants). I do not use flash equipment.
  • There is no stage lighting. Panels and talks are totally fine! But when you get to the kind that has the audience in the dark and the stage lit up, you'll want to book someone else.
  • You value the candid shots, such as the attendees mingling and having fun
  • You vibe with my photography style

"Jenn was an absolute delight to work with! I requested her services on an event pretty last minute (2-3 days beforehand), and she was quick to respond and start the booking process. The process was super thorough, which I appreciated as it was my first time booking a photographer. She did a great job blending seamlessly into the event, making everyone feel at ease in front of the camera. The photos really captured the vibe and essence of the event, and I'm so grateful she was there!"

event photography details

All SF Bay Area event photography coverage includes:

  • Editing (all done by me) turnaround: 2-3 weeks after the event date
  • Password-protected online gallery: shareable & downloadable
  • Downloadable photos in hi-res and web formats
  • Travel within San Francisco. I serve the general Bay Area, but a travel fee will apply (traffic is no joke!)
  • An average of 30 photos per hour (not guaranteed; see FAQs below). I actually shoot a few hundred per hour, but I weed out duplicates and strange facial expressions to give you the best shots. Most people don't want the same scene with five slightly different crops.

At the end of the photo session, if you want photos for a recap and/or immediate social media use, such as IG story posts, five photos in .jpeg format can be provided. These photos will be straight out of the camera and delivered to you via email or text, which means they have not gone through the full editing process yet. They will still be fully edited and delivered in the final set. When you're filling out the shot list worksheet, you'll enter details about this.

My basic requirements are:

  • Parking is available and safe. If it's garage or valet parking, coverage of the cost is provided.
  • Meals: A 30-min meal break for day rates. If meals are served at the event, I should also be provided one.
  • Storage: A safe and secure place to store my bag and equipment.
  • Photo waivers or releases have been given by the attendees. This is usually done when people purchase a ticket for the event.
  • Entry into the event is covered

FAQ

do you have an attendee limit?

I don't have a solid number, but if you can describe it as "small" or "intimate," I can shoot it. Fifty people would be the general number to cap it at. Some good examples include your fur child's birthday party, a company meeting or dinner, a panel, or a talk.

What are your venue constraints?

I'm able to shoot in daytime outdoor areas or well-lit indoor spaces. I don't shoot events with spotlight stages, dark restaurants, or dark bars.

how many photos do I get?

I don't have a guarantee on minimum photo delivery. I average about 30 photos per hour. This number is not exact (i.e. the first hour may produce 20 good photos while the second produces 40). The number of photos will depend heavily on the shots you want and what the event is like.

FAQ

do you have a minimum duration?

Yes, there is a minimum of two hours for events. The only exception to this rule is trade show booth photography: if I'm attending the event already and shooting multiple booths, we can discuss your coverage needs.

Can I get my photos back faster?

Yes! I offer expedited editing, that's a one-week turnaround. The costs are listed in the pricing section above. If you'd like the photos back faster than one week, please let me know in the inquiry form.

i'm not sure if my event fits the criteria

I'm happy to discuss custom pricing, packages, and other unique event details. Just fill out the photo request form and note that you're interested in custom pricing. Some examples of this include: corporate off-site adventures, multi-day immersive workshops, and yoga retreats.
